Terms of Service

Welcome to Juryd, where football fans log, rate and review the matches they watch. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Juryd (“Juryd”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of the Juryd website and any related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Juryd.

1. Who can use Juryd

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, or older if the law where you live requires it.
  • If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms.
  • You can’t use Juryd if we have previously removed you, or if the law prevents you from doing so.

2. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date. One person per account; no sharing accounts.
  • Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away at legal@juryd.example if you think someone else has accessed it.
  • Your username must not impersonate anyone, mislead people, or infringe anyone’s rights.
  • You can deactivate or delete your account at any time from Settings. A deactivated account is hidden straight away and kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted; during those 30 days your username is reserved for you.

3. Your content

“Your content” means anything you post on Juryd: ratings (“verdicts”), reviews, Man of the Match picks, your profile details and photos, likes and follows.

  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize or format), display and distribute your content in order to run, promote and improve the Service. This includes showing it to other users and turning your verdicts into share images when you share them. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where it has already been shared by you or others, or where we must keep it for legal reasons.
  • You confirm you have the right to post your content, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.

4. Public by design

Juryd is a public, social platform. Your profile, verdicts, reviews, likes, followers, and the people you follow can be seen by anyone, including people who are not signed in, and may appear in search engines. The match averages (“the jury’s verdict”) include your ratings.

Team switches are public. If you change the team you support, your profile will show that you switched, which team you switched from and when. This is part of the fun of Juryd; please only pick a team you are happy to be associated with.

5. Community rules

Banter is welcome. Abuse is not. When using Juryd you must not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone, including players, officials, journalists and other fans.
  • Post hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics.
  • Post sexual, violent or graphic content, or content that sexualises minors.
  • Share anyone’s private information (such as addresses, phone numbers or private messages).
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with a club, league or media outlet.
  • Post spam, advertising, scams, phishing, or content promoting illegal gambling.
  • Manipulate ratings or engagement, for example with multiple accounts, bots, or coordinated fake verdicts.
  • Post content you don’t have the rights to, or that breaks any law.
  • Scrape, crawl or copy the Service or its data by automated means, interfere with its security or operation, or attempt to access accounts or systems that aren’t yours.

6. Moderation and enforcement

We may remove or hide content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that we reasonably believe break these Terms or the law, or put Juryd or others at risk. Where appropriate we’ll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, contact legal@juryd.example. We aren’t obliged to monitor content and we aren’t responsible for what users post, but you can report anything that breaks these rules to legal@juryd.example.

7. Match data, club names and logos

  • Fixtures, scores, statistics, line-ups and player images come from third-party sources. They are provided for information and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Don’t rely on them for anything important.
  • Club, national team and competition names, crests and logos, and player names and images, are the property of their respective owners. They are used only to identify the matches being discussed. Juryd is an independent fan platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any club, league, federation, broadcaster or data provider.
  • Verdicts and reviews are personal opinions. Nothing on Juryd is betting, financial or professional advice.

8. Copyright and trademark complaints

If you believe something on Juryd infringes your copyright or trademark, email legal@juryd.example with: your contact details; a description of the work or mark; the link to the content concerned; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised; and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner. We’ll review the notice and remove or disable access to the content where appropriate. We may close the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Our rights

The Juryd name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms don’t give you any right to use them, except as part of using the Service normally. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

10. Links and other services

Juryd may link to, or let you share to, other websites and apps (such as X, Threads and Reddit). We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them; their own terms and privacy policies apply. Signing in with Google is also subject to Google’s terms.

11. Changes to Juryd and to these Terms

Juryd is a young product, and features will change. We may add, change or remove features, or suspend or stop the Service. If we make material changes to these Terms we’ll ask you to review and accept them before you continue using Juryd. If you don’t accept them, you can delete your account.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Juryd and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account under section 6, or if we stop providing the Service. Sections 3 (to the extent content was already shared), 7, 9 and 12 to 16 continue to apply after your account ends.

13. Disclaimers

Juryd is free and provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that match data or user content is accurate. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Juryd and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from content posted by others. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free account, is nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

15. Indemnity

If you break these Terms or the law, or your content infringes someone’s rights, and someone makes a claim against us as a result, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Toronto, Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Please contact us first at legal@juryd.example; most problems can be fixed quickly.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
