Accessibility

Football is for everyone, and so is Juryd. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we do

  • Meaningful images have text alternatives. Crests and logos shown next to a team’s name are marked as decorative so screen readers don’t read names twice. Match posters are announced as one sentence (for example, “Canada 1–0 Chile, International Friendly 2026, rated 4.5 out of 5”).
  • Star ratings are announced as “Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars”. When you give a verdict, the stars work as a slider: use the arrow keys to move in half stars, and Home or End to jump to the ends.
  • Buttons that only show an icon have text labels for assistive technology.
  • Three colour themes (Light, Navy and Dark), with text colours chosen for contrast.
  • Animations are reduced if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Pages work at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, and with browser zoom.

Known limitations

  • Some images come from third-party services, and occasionally a crest or player photo is missing; the team or player name is always shown as text.
  • Photos uploaded by members don’t have custom descriptions yet. They always appear next to the member’s name, which is read instead.
